The Utility Worker position is responsible for following established procedures to ensure the sanitary maintenance of the dish room and entire food service area. This position is responsible for set up, operation, and cleaning of the dishwashing machine. Other responsibilities include: cleaning and sanitizing dishware, pots and pans, and equipment as directed; sweeping and mopping floors, removing trash from all food service areas; conveying dishware and food items to and from the main kitchen area, and assisting in the storage of received goods.

Qualifications for the Utility Worker position include:

• Ability to walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds;
• Basic knowledge of cleaning methods and techniques, sanitizing agents, and equipment;
• Ability to communicate in English, and understand and complete directions;
• Maintains professional manner and appearance;
• Works independently and efficiently under stressful conditions with many interruptions, and
• Ability to operate dish washing machine and other equipment as directed with a basic knowledge of safety and sanitation rules and practices.
