As a Companion/Sitter, and a Forest Team Member, you’ll help support this mission by delivering exceptional, quality care to our residents. Our Forest at Home services are a new addition that provides critical support and care to our residents in their Independent Living households. Our companions will drive from appointment to appointment within our safe and secure community.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid North Carolina state driver’s license.
- Must have completed high school education or earned a GED.
- Must be fluent in speaking, reading, writing and understanding English.
- Must have previous experience or completion of appropriate training program. Will provide training if necessary.
Key Competences:
- Must have positive and trustworthy attitude towards clients and team members.
- Must maintain professional dress and professional manner with all clients, families, visitors, and staff.
- Ability to learn scheduling software systems.
- Must be willing to work around animals.
- Must be willing to engage clients in activities.
- Must be able to remain calm under stress, and to problem-solve or report problem identification to RN Home Care Service Supervisor.
- Must be available and willing to work holidays and weekends as needed.
Essential Functions of the Position:
- Assist with supervision of clients with ADL’s i.e. bathing, dressing, grooming, dental care, nail care, bowel and bladder functions, preparation for medical tests and exams, ear and eye care, and positioning in and out of beds, chairs, showers, etc.
- Observe and supervise nursing functions as directed by supervisor: including perineal care, measure and record temperature, pulse and respiration, blood pressure, weigh and measures client, performs restorative and rehabilitative procedures, and observe and report presence of skin breakdown.
- Obtains and reviews plan of care before start of shift.
- Ensures that all required documentation is complete by the end of shift.
- Completes all Relias education training modules by the due date.
