Description

As an Executive Sous Chef, you’ll help support this mission in conjunction with the Executive Chef by being responsible for all food preparation aspects of the dining service operation in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This position is committed to the preparation of quality food, assists in the maintenance of sound interdepartmental relations and the integrating of the dining service department with the facility plan of operations, and manages team members within the framework of team-ship, The Forest Way behaviors, and empowerment.
Required Qualifications:
- Must have a comprehensive knowledge of safe, sanitary food handling procedures, preparation methods, merchandising, and supervision.
- Graduate of a Culinary Arts school or extensive prior experience in similar food preparation positions.
- Certified Dietary Manager preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience managing a team.
- Must have knowledge of special diets and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations regarding food preparation.
- Must be able to read, write, and follow oral and written directions in English.
Required Competences:
- Must exhibit competence in the management of the Dining production team.
- Must have ability to work independently and efficiently under stressful conditions
- The ability to be comfortable managing multiple priorities simultaneously, keeping focus on results.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Detail-orientation with the production of high quality work.
- Must have ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Must have a positive attitude toward the elderly and be able to maintain positive relationships and interactions with residents and team members.
- Must be able to solve problems according to facility and departmental practices.
