The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) performs direct patient care duties under the supervision of nurses and assist in maintaining a positive physical, social, and psychological environment for the residents.

Qualifications for the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) position include:

• Must be in good standing and meet all applicable federal and state certification requirements;
• Medication Technician/Medication Aide certification preferred;
• Assists residents with daily bath, dressing, grooming, dental care, bowel and bladder functions, preparation for medical tests and exams, ear and eye care, and positioning in and out of beds, chairs, showers, whirlpools, etc.
• Provides nursing functions as directed by supervisor including daily perineal care, catheter care, changes of dressings, turns residents in bed, sponge baths, measures and records temperature, pulse and respirations, weigh and measures residents, performs restorative and rehabilitative procedures, and observes and reports presence of skin breakdowns.
• Reviews care plans daily.
• Reports changes in resident condition to supervisor.
• Records all necessary charting entries and reports all accidents and incident
• Must be at least 18 years of age;
• Must speak and understand English;
• Must have previous experience or completion of appropriate training program, and
• Must be able to bend and lift up to 50 pounds.
